Project Overview

Ryan Maloney is an industry-leading house music DJ seeking to refine his content strategy to better reflect his identity and accelerate traction around his music.

While his ability behind the decks was undeniable, there was a gap between how his talent translated in real life and how it was being perceived online. The objective was to craft a content system that not only showcased his technical ability, but positioned him as a serious and considered artist within the scene.

Challenges

The focus was on differentiation in a saturated market.

The house music space is filled with DJs producing highly polished, yet often interchangeable content. Ryan was clear in his direction. He didn’t want to follow that path.

He had a strong preference for a more analog, feeling-led approach. Something textured. Something human. Something that didn’t feel like every other DJ recap circulating online.

At the same time, there was a need for structure. Without a defined system, content risked becoming inconsistent and failing to fully communicate what made Ryan unique.

The challenge became clear.

Create something that stands out, without losing relevance.

Build a system that feels intentional, not forced.

Conclusion

A hybrid content strategy was introduced, blending modern digital execution with analog storytelling.

On the digital side, multi-cam setups were implemented to capture Ryan’s stage presence in real time. This allowed us to document not just the performance, but the control, the movement, and the connection he had with the crowd.

Alongside this, an analog layer was introduced through Super 8 videography and film-inspired formats. This added texture, imperfection, and emotion. The kind of content that feels remembered, not just watched.

To elevate immediacy, we introduced live content edits.

As Ryan stepped off the decks, content was already prepared and ready to be published. A real-time recap of his performance, delivered while the energy of the set was still alive.

This shifted perception.

From DJ to presence.

From performance to moment.

The result was a content system that felt both considered and current. Structured, but alive.

Positioning Ryan not just as someone who plays music, but as someone shaping how it’s experienced.
